Why do projects fail?
Project Management Institute’s Pulse of the Profession® study conducted in 2014 identified inaccurate requirements gathering as a primary reason for project failure, 37% in 2014 from 32% in 2013. Unfortunately, poor requirements elicitation comes at a huge cost — US$51 million is wasted for every US$1 billion spent. (See PMI’s Pulse of the Profession: Requirements Management — A Core Competency for Project and Program Success.)
What can you do about it?
It’s time to apply the power of visualization and effective planning to transform the results of your elicitation efforts.
